I am so excited for my second year of BICS to begin! This will be my 7th year as a teacher. I have taught 1st grade and kindergarten in the past. I believe that all students are special and learn in unique ways. I will do what it takes for them to succeed. I have lived in San Diego my entire life and you can often find me doing something outside with my husband and 3-year-old son. I love playing soccer, spending time in the sunshine, and being around friends and family.

I graduated from UVA with my Master’s in Elementary Education and attended William and Mary for my undergraduate degree. I’m originally from Richmond, VA. When I’m not in the classroom, you can find me thrifting for children’s books, trying out a new restaurant, or spending time with family and friends. I'm excited for this new adventure!

5th - 6th Grades
Hi! I am so excited to teach at BICS this year! A year ago, my husband and I made the decision to move to California from Nebraska where I taught two years in fifth grade at a small private school. I have since had the opportunity to teach 5th grade in the Santee School District. I earned both my bachelor’s and my master’s degree in elementary education at the University of Midland in Nebraska. I am passionate about teaching children to become leaders in our classroom as well as in our community. When I am not teaching, you can find me reading, crafting, or playing with my Australian Shepherd dog!

Sahil Alami
Campus Supervisor
As a basketball coach at El Capitan High School, I took this position of Campus Supervisor because of my passion for working with kids. My goal is to one day become a physical education teacher or a physical therapist because of my love of sports and having an impact on the physical aspects of people's lives. I am a very positive, dependable, and caring person. I attribute these qualities to the way my parents raised me. I am very excited for this chapter of my life at BICS!
Ariel Triunfel
Campus Supervisor
I moved here from Brooklyn, NY in 2021. I have worked in youth programs since childhood. I have worked as a camp counselor, art instructor, site supervisor, and I eventually became the program director for an established program. My passion is working with children to teach them that leadership and learning doesn’t only happen in the classroom, but can also happen while they are in line for lunch or playing a game on the playground. I am excited for this new adventure here at BICS!
